Course Description

 This an Advanced Placement Studio Art course is, a college-level course, designed for highly motivated students who are committed to the creation and study of art. This course emphasizes artmaking as an ongoing process that involves complex and critical decision making. Through this process, students will work toward developing mastery in concept, composition, and execution of 2D design, Drawing or 3D design and will produce a highly developed body of work that satisfies the College Board’s AP Studio Art portfolio requirements. [sc2] It is recommended for the AP student to have previous training in art and be able to demonstrate through a portfolio an ability to create fine art. Students will investigate formal and conceptual ideas in 2D design, drawing or 3D design in all three parts of the AP Studio Art Portfolio: Quality, Concentration, and Breadth. [sc1] Students will choose to develop a portfolio in 2D Design, Drawing or 3D Design
