CTE & Career Pathways
What is Career Technical Education?
Career and Technical Education (CTE) provides learners with the academic and technical skills, knowledge, and training necessary to succeed in future careers and develop skills they will use throughout their careers. CTE prepares students for the world of work by introducing them to workplace competencies and makes academic content accessible to students by providing it in a hands-on context (CDE, 2023).
What are CTE/Career Pathways?
A program of study that involves a multiyear (2 to 4 years), non-duplicative sequence of courses that are aligned with the needs of industry and integrate core academic knowledge with technical and occupational knowledge to provide students with a pathway to postsecondary education and careers (CDE, 2023).
