SKECHERS FRIENDSHIP WALK:
Register for the Skechers Pier to Pier Friendship Walk on Sunday, October 24th! The Pier to Pier walk is a fun-filled, outdoor walk from the Manhattan Beach Pier to the Hermosa Beach pier and back. All money raised during this event goes directly back to school districts in the south bay and RUHS! Visit skechersfriendshipwalk.com and sign up for $30 under team RUHS. Feel free to sign up your friends and family too. We can’t wait to see you walk with us!
Belly Flop Contest!
If we get 150 students from each class (600 total) to sign up to walk in the Skechers Pier to Pier Friendship Walk, October 24. Mr. Bridi will challenge students to a Belly Flop Competition in our aquatic center.
- Students signed up (each class) will be randomly drawn to participate (1 student = Flop/Judge, 30 = spectators of contest). Class with most virtual sign-ups will have 50 spectators
- If student does not wish to flop they can choose a willing teacher in their place (list is being
gathered). Student will then be a judge
Event to take place 10-29-2021 during snack and SSH (RU TV will film a live event for our school
community)
RUHS LIBRARY FALL CHALLENGE:
The challenge is simple: read a book, write a review using our online library book review platform, and be entered to win prizes. Prizes range from Starbucks gift cards to library swag. ASB UCLA BLOOD DRIVE:
The UCLA Blood Drive is taking place On Wednesday, November 10th in the small gym from 7:30 am- 12:30 pm. Sign up with any ASB Member or fill out the google form linked in your student email. Donors must be at least 16 years old to donate, and parental consent is required for all 16 year old's. Make sure to sign up by Friday November 5th. All Eligible Blood Donors will receive a Movie Ticket! Blood Drive Sign Up
REFLECTIONS CONTEST:

CAML CONTEST:
Thank you to the 76 students who came to our first CAML contest, and congratulations to Bodie Beaumont-Gold who was the only Seahawk to earn a perfect 6 this round. Boden Allen, Cody Moser, Theo Daniel, and Isabella Longa followed close behind with an impressive score of 5 out of 6. Our next contest is Tuesday November 9th at lunch. Hope to see you there!
RUHS BASEBALL:
All interested players Grades 11-12: Tryouts will take place on Tuesdays & Thursdays from September 28 - October 14 from 3:30-6:30pm on Memorial Field. Mandatory meeting Tuesday, 9/22 at the field. SOCAL ROC:
SoCal ROC 2nd quarter class, Adobe Illustrator, begins on November 15th! Earn high school elective credits while learning valuable skills that prepare you for a future career in graphic design. This course is after school, online via google classroom, and FREE for high school students! Your SoCal ROC career guidance specialist is available to answer any questions in the Nest every Thursday during 2nd period and snack. Add your name to the sign up sheet in the Nest to meet with her ASAP!
PHYSICS TUTORING:
Do you need extra help on your physics homework or studying for your upcoming test? Come on over to the Physics Tutoring Club, every Tuesday and Thursday in room 125 to receive personalized,
one-on-one help from other Physics students, for free. Sea Hawks, if you are interested in tutoring your peers, earning community service hours, and practicing your own physics abilities, head over to one of our club meetings.
MATH TUTORING:
Are you confused during math class? Is there a homework problem that you can't figure out? Head on down to the math tutoring club in room 313 every Tuesday and Thursday during lunch. You will receive personalized, 1-on-1 help from your peers, absolutely free. We can provide you alternate pathways to answers that your teachers don't teach you during class. Sea Hawks, if you want to help your peers improve their math abilities and earn community service hours, you can become a tutor by coming to one of our club meetings.
CHEMISTRY TUTORING:
Do you need help with your chemistry homework or preparing for an exam? Head on down to the Chem tutoring club in room 122 every Tuesday and Friday during lunch starting on 9/17. You will
receive personalized, one-on-one help from your peers, absolutely free. All students are welcome.
BIOLOGY TUTORING:
Biology peer tutoring will be available to all levels starting Tuesday, September 21, in Mrs. Frames' room (room 126), after school from 3:00 to 3:30.
We’re also looking for current or former AP Biology students to be tutors, so if you feel confident and are interested in peer tutoring for service hours, please come to Mrs. Frame’s room after school on Tuesday September 21st for the first meeting. ASIAN CULTURES CLUB:
Are you interested in learning about Asian cultures? Come to the Asian Cultures Club to make friends, learn about different Asian traditions, and make some yummy Asian food! Meetings are Tuesdays at lunch in the Bingo Room!
POKEMON CLUB:
Wanna play and talk about Pokemon with other students on campus? Come on down to the Pokemon Club on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, at lunch in room 610!
BREAKDANCING CLUB:
Are you interested in breakdancing? If so, come check out the breakdancing club, which is having its first meeting today in the bingo room during lunch. No prior experience is required, hope to see you there!

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED:
South Bay Parkland Conservancy is looking for volunteers willing to weed, water, and plant the rest of the plant inventory around the amphitheater and lower pond areas at Hopkins Wilderness Park.
