FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS ARE BACK:

GIRLS FLAG FOOTBALL:

Interested in playing Girls Flag Football For RUHS? Our Championship winning team is playing in a 2nd season of the League of Champions sponsored by the Los Angeles Rams and Los Angeles Chargers! Come try out for the team on Thursday September 1st & Friday 2nd from 4:00pm to 5:30pm on the auxiliary field with Coach Jimenez. It will be a 2-day tryout, so it is strongly recommended that you attend both days. Please wear athletic attire as well as some sort of cleats or athletic shoes. If you have any questions, please email Coach Jimenez at [email protected] or stop by his office in the Boy’s PE Locker room.

BOYS SOCCER TRYOUTS:

Anyone who is interested in trying out for the defending CIF champion boys soccer team will need to attend both days of tryouts this Friday, August 26 and Wednesday, August 31.  Players need to meet on the auxiliary field after school and wear proper soccer attire in order to participate.  Tryouts will begin promptly at 3:45pm and end around 5:15pm.  Don’t be late.  See Coach Salisbury in room 826 if you have any questions.

SOFTBALL TRYOUTS:

Hello Sea Hawks. Your Bay League Champion Softball Team is having its first tryouts for the 2023 season on August 31st at 3:45pm. Location: Softball Complex. Please come in softball attire with glove and cleats. Tryouts run from 3:45pm-5:00pm. If you have questions before, please contact Head Coach Jennifer Dessert at [email protected]. GOBIGRED!

RUHS THEATRE ARTS:

Enjoy acting and performing? Love improv comedy? Or maybe you’re more of an artist, builder, or technician? It’s time to get ready for auditions and interviews for our Winter Mainstage Play: She Kills Monsters and our Comedy Sportz competitive improv league team! RUHS Theatre Arts will be holding an informational meeting at 3:45 pm on Wednesday September 7th in the Auditorium. Come and get more information about how to audition and interview to be involved in our amazing performing arts programs here at RUHS! Please join Google Classroom Lju756t for more information. SALSA CLUB INFO:

The Sabor de Salsa Club is having its first informational meeting next Friday, September 2nd. It will be in room 610 during lunch. No dance experience is necessary or expected. Come and learn about one of the best communities on campus!

SOCAL ROC INFO:

There are 2 weeks left to enroll in a SoCal ROC class! Earn high school elective credits while learning valuable skills that prepare you for college and/or an entry-level career. Courses are after school and FREE for high school students. FREE bus transportation is also available to and from our center for all RUHS students enrolled in our 1:15pm and 4:15pm classes. Your SoCal ROC career guidance specialist is available in the Nest to answer any questions every Thursday during 2nd period and snack. Add your name to the sign up sheet in the Nest to meet with her ASAP!

BEACH CITIES HEALTH DISTRICT:

Beach Cities Health District (BCHD) is seeking middle and high school students (grades 8-12) who are passionate about their peers' health and wellness to serve on the Youth Advisory Council. The Youth Advisory Council is a youth-led committee focusing on the health and needs of their Beach Cities peers. As a Youth Advisory Council member, students will promote students' health and wellbeing in the Beach Cities. Student applicants must live in or attend a middle or high school in the following Beach Cities: Redondo Beach, Manhattan Beach, and Hermosa Beach. The application will open on August 9, 2021. Students must submit applications by Sunday, August 28, 2022 by 6 p.m. via smartsheet link to be considered for our Youth Advisory Council.   4. Actively answer the questions when passively screening before coming to campus
  5. Contact school personnel immediately (attendance office) upon COVID-19 symptoms, exposure, and/or positive test(s).
