Hello AP Families,
This message is to provide important information for students and families who are taking AP tests coming up shortly in May. Please see the information below for details. The full list of AP Exam Terms and Conditions provided by College Board are available HERE.
Where do I go for my test?
Check-In Times for Testing
- Morning Tests – check in time is 7:30am at the testing location (see attachment for testing location)
- Afternoon Tests – check in time is 12:30pm at the testing location (see attachment for testing location)
Where do I go after my test?
- Morning Tests – Students who are testing in the morning sessions will be excused from 0-period classes but are expected to attend their afternoon scheduled classes. When released from the test, you can begin your lunch time, but cannot leave campus unless you have an off grounds pass from afternoon classes.
- Afternoon Tests – Students who are testing in the afternoon session will be excused from their 3rd or 4th period classes at 12:00pm for early lunch, but are expected to attend their 0, 1st/2nd, and 3rd/4th period classes before 12:00pm dismissal time for lunch. How do I prepare for digital/hybrid testing?
- Prepare your Chromebook
- Log in to your school-issued Chromebook at least two weeks (by Monday, April 21) before your first AP exam to ensure your school account is working.
- Test the keyboard on your school-issued Chromebook to ensure there are no keystroke delays and all keys are working properly.
- Run an OS update on your school-issued Chromebook at least two weeks before your first AP exam to ensure your Chromebook is up to date.
- Remove any unnecessary extensions from your school-issued Chromebook.
- Visit the Library as soon as you encounter a problem with your Chromebook that you cannot fix by following the steps above.
- Practice taking digital/hybrid tests on the Bluebook app
- Test Bluebook on your device.
- Open Bluebook on your device and click Test Your Device at the top right of the sign-in page to make sure your device meets requirements.
- If your device does not meet the requirements, come to the Library Chromebook desk ASAP
- Sign in to the app with your College Board account.
- On the Bluebook homepage, locate your upcoming exam under Your Tests.
- Visit the Practice on Bluebook page for instructions on how to practice taking a digital/hybrid AP exam on your school-issued Chromebook. Please note Bluebook is already installed on your Chromebook and updates automatically.
- Practice testing with accommodations
- If you are approved for accommodations with College Board, they will be applied to your digital/hybrid tests. When you log in to Bluebook, you will see a personal information screen that lists your name and any accommodations you’re approved for. Important: While taking practice tests in Bluebook, every student is welcome to toggle on and experiment with certain built-in accommodations (text-to-speech, screen readers, etc.). However, practicing with accommodations does NOT mean you are approved to take an actual assessment with those accommodations. You are encouraged to check with your counselor if you are unclear on the status of your accommodations approval.
- Visit the Accommodations for Digital AP Exams page to learn how common accommodations will be administered for digital/hybrid tests.
- Some assistive technology may require special configuration. See the Accommodations and Assistive Technology page, and reach out to your student’s case manager with questions.
- Make sure you know which of your AP exams are fully digital (completed entirely in the Bluebook app) and which exams are hybrid (multiple-choice completed in Bluebook app, free-response section completed in paper free-response booklet). View the list of digital and hybrid AP exams here.
What should I bring to my testing location?
