RUHS PERFORMING ARTS:

Enjoy acting and performing? Love improv comedy? Or maybe you’re more of an artist, builder, or technician? It’s time to get ready for auditions and interviews for our Winter Mainstage: Elf the Musical and our Comedy Sportz competitive improv league team! RUHS Theatre Arts will be holding an informational meeting at 12:45 pm on Monday September 13th in the Blackbox. RUHS BOYS SOCCER TRYOUTS:

Soccer tryouts will be September 8th through September 10 after school each day from 3:15 to 4:45 on the athletic field.  This includes all new and returning players. Please come dressed in appropriate soccer attire including shin pads.

RUHS BASEBALL:

All interested players Grades 11-12: Tryouts will take place on Tuesdays & Thursdays from September 28 - October 14 from 3:30-6:30pm on Memorial Field. Mandatory meeting Tuesday, 9/22 at the field. Incoming players Grades 9-10: Tryouts will take place Monday, Oct 18-Thursday, Oct 21 from 3:30-6:30pm on Memorial Field. RUHS WRESTLING:

The Women’s wrestling team is looking for individuals who want to join the team. If you are interested, there is a practice on Thursday September 9th from 3 - 5:30 pm in the Big Gym. If you can't make it you can also contact the team captain Kylie Sharp at kylies8160@my.rbusd.org for more information.

RBEF:  Let’s help RBEF get $25 for our schools!  For every sign placed in a family's yard Hoffman Murphy will donate $25 to RBEF.  So easy!

The Hoffman Murphy Real Estate Team will donate $25 to Redondo Beach Education Foundation and place a small sign in your yard showing your support from September 21 - September 29.

RUHS SURF TRYOUTS:

We are looking for male and female shortboarders and longboarders.  Tryouts will be Sunday,

September 12th at 7:00am at the Hermosa Beach Pier. Please contact Coach Avery if you have any questions.

RUHS DRUMLINE INTERESTED:

Do you play piano or keyboard or any other drum instruments? Ever wanted to be a part of the Redondo drumline? The Redondo Union Percussion Class is available for anyone wanting to play keyboards and drums. We are also looking for students wanting to learn how to play keyboard or drums for anyone who's interested. No prior experience is necessary. Please contact Mr. Vizcarra at rvizcarra@rbusd.org if interested.

INTERACT CLUB:

Are you interested in building international understanding and making new friends around the world? Interact clubs bring together young people to develop leadership skills while discovering the power of Service Above Self. Find out how serious leadership can be seriously fun! Come check out Interact Club on Tuesday during lunch in the ASB room - located in the student services building.

LIBRARY PRINTING:

The library staff will print your assignments for $.10 per page. Purchase a printing punch card for $1.00 and receive 11 pages or supply your own white paper. 

SCROC:

SoCal ROC Fall 2021 semester courses begin Monday, September 13th! In-person classes have now been added to our Fall courses! Earn high school elective credits while learning valuable skills and preparing for a future career. Courses are after school and FREE for high school students! Contact your Career Guidance Specialist for more information and to enroll - Mrs. Rocio Pineda-Contreras at 310-224-4240 or rpcontreras@scroc.k12.ca.us. MATH TUTORING:

Are you confused during math class? Is there a homework problem that you can't figure out? Do you not understand why you got a bad grade on your test? Head on down to the math tutoring club in room 313 every Tuesday and Thursday during lunch. You will receive personalized, one-on-one help from your peers, absolutely free. Our tutors can help you in every math class taught at RUHS on every topic. We can provide you alternate pathways to answers that your teachers don't teach you during class. Sea Hawks, if you want to help your peers improve their math abilities and earn community service hours, you can become a tutor by coming to one of our club meetings. Again, the math tutoring club is meeting every Tuesday and Thursday during lunch in room 313. All students are welcome.

SCHOOL BREAKFAST & LUNCH:

Free breakfast and lunch meals will be available for all students, each day in the Student Union and at the two pods. A la carte snacks and drinks will be available for purchase outside at the snack windows. Students must have their student ID with them to scan for the cashier when receiving free meals or purchasing snack items. Cash payments will no longer be accepted.  VOLUNTEERS NEEDED:

South Bay Parkland Conservancy is looking for volunteers willing to weed, water, and plant the rest of the plant inventory around the amphitheater and lower pond areas at Hopkins Wilderness Park. The Key Club has already approved this project and deemed it safe for students.
