Homecoming tickets are on sale NOW! The Homecoming Dance is on Saturday, October 2nd at the RUHS Student Union from 7:00-11:00 PM . The theme is Black + White Mask-uerade! Come dance the night away, enjoy some food, and witness the crowning of the 2021 Homecoming Royalty! You can purchase a ticket online in the ASB web store, or in the Finance Office. 

Ticket prices are as follows:

9/25-10/1   $50 with ASB and  $55 without

Only RUHS guests are allowed to attend.

Are you interested in pursuing a career in law? Would you like to be an actual member of a jury? Check out Teen Court! Teen Court is a program in which juveniles who have committed misdemeanor offences are tried by a jury of their peers (you!). Our first meeting will be Tuesday, September 28th at snack in room 828 in preparation for our first court session in October. If you have any questions, please email Mrs. Montesano at

The CSF (California Scholarship Federation) honor roll registration window is open one more week, through Monday, October, 4th. Students in grades 10 through 12 who qualify and want to join should fill out an application (available on the Google Classroom page or in room 706 starting Monday) and bring it, along with their June report card, to be stamped in room 706 at lunch only. Students will then take the stamped application to the ASB finance office, along with $5, to complete their registration. There will not be online registration this year. The window will close on Monday, October 4th, and late applications will not be accepted. The Google Classroom code for this year’s CSF page is qm6axo6. Interested students should join there, as information will be pushed out from there first. More information about how to qualify is available there as well.  Freshmen will need to wait to apply until February, when they have an RUHS report card, but they may join the Google Classroom now. 


Get ready to deck the halls! RUHS Theatre Arts will be holding auditions and technical

interviews for the Winter Musical – ELF, based on the hit movie starring Will Ferrell! Interviews for technical crew will be held September 27th, and Vocal and Dance auditions will be held September 28th & 29th for actors. This beautiful coming of age story focuses on how a small town comes together through hardships, finding comfort through what they’ve lost, and what they’ve gained in a uniquely sentimental way. Are you a girl or non-binary student interested in coding, but don’t know where to begin? Join the Girls Who Code club! Girls Who Code is an international organization working to close the gender gap in the field of computer science. We will learn coding languages, discuss current issues in the STEM field, and talk about how computer science is applied in the real world. Come to our first club meeting on Tuesday, September 28 in room 150, which is located in the basement of the CTE

building. No experience is required!


SoCal ROC 2nd quarter class, Adobe Illustrator, begins on November 15th! Earn high school elective credits while learning valuable skills that prepare you for a future career in graphic design.

This course is after school, online via google classroom, and FREE for high school students! Your SoCal ROC career guidance specialist is available to answer any questions in the Nest every Thursday during 2nd period and snack. Add your name to the sign-up sheet in the Nest to meet with her ASAP!


All interested players Grades 11-12: Tryouts will take place on Tuesdays & Thursdays from September 28 - October 14 from 3:30-6:30pm on Memorial Field. Mandatory meeting Tuesday, 9/22 at the field. Incoming players Grades 9-10: Tryouts will take place Monday, Oct 18-Thursday, Oct 21 from 3:30-6:30pm on Memorial Field. Do you need extra help on your physics homework or studying for your upcoming test? Come on over to the Physics Tutoring Club, starting on 9/21, every Tuesday and Thursday in room 125 to

receive personalized, one-on-one help from other Physics students, for free. Sea Hawks, if you are interested in tutoring your peers, earning community service hours, and practicing your own physics abilities, head over to one of our club meetings.


Are you confused during math class? Is there a homework problem that you can't figure out? Head on down to the math tutoring club in room 313 every Tuesday and Thursday during lunch. You will receive personalized, 1-on-1 help from your peers, absolutely free. Our tutors can help you in every math class taught at RUHS on every topic. We can provide you alternate pathways to answers that your teachers don't teach you during class. Sea Hawks, if you want to help your peers improve their math abilities and earn community service hours, you can become a tutor by coming to one of our club meetings. Again, the math tutoring club is meeting every Tuesday and Thursday during lunch in room 313. All students are welcome.


Do you need help with your chemistry homework or preparing for a chemistry exam? Head on down to the Chemistry tutoring club in room 122 every Tuesday and Friday during lunch starting on 9/17. You will receive personalized, one-on-one help from your peers, absolutely free. All students are welcome.


Biology peer tutoring will be available to all levels starting Tuesday, September 21, in Mrs. Frames' room (room 126), after school from 3:00 to 3:30. 

We’re also looking for current or former AP Biology students to be tutors, so if you feel confident and are interested in peer tutoring for service hours, please come to Mrs. Frame’s room after school on Tuesday September 21st  for the first meeting. South Bay Parkland Conservancy is looking for volunteers willing to weed, water, and plant the rest of the plant inventory around the amphitheater and lower pond areas at Hopkins Wilderness Park. The Key Club has already approved this project and deemed it safe for students.

And just as a memory refresher: The South Bay Parkland Conservancy is a non-profit organization

founded by Mayor Bill Brand committed to preserving open space and creating more parks in the coastal cities of the South Bay in Los Angeles, CA.


The library staff will print your assignments for $.10 per page. Purchase a printing punch card for $1.00 and receive 11 pages or supply your own white paper. 


Free breakfast and lunch meals will be available for all students, each day in the Student Union and at the two pods. A la carte snacks and drinks will be available for purchase outside at the snack windows. Students must have their student ID with them to scan for the cashier when receiving free meals or purchasing snack items. Cash payments will no longer be accepted.
