ADVERTISING (Yearbook)

Senior Families,

Senior Ads for the Yearbook are on sale until December 7th. These are optional, personalized well-wishes with photos that parents/families create to honor their grads, and the ads appear in the back of the yearbook. If you choose to purchase a senior ad, you will create the ad yourself using the Varsity website, (code: 6724) following the directions on the attachment below. If you have questions, please contact Varsity directly, since the school yearbook staff doesn’t handle senior ads.

Early Bird Pricing ends September 2nd and the window for creating your senior’s ad closes altogether on December 7th, 2026.

 

All content must adhere to Redondo Union’s behavior and dress codes. Anything that wouldn’t be allowed on campus will not be allowed in the ad, and per California Education Code, the student editors make the final decisions. 

 

If the student editors deem an ad inappropriate, you will be contacted and asked to change it. If you choose not to do so, the ad will not be published, nor will you be reimbursed by Varsity or Redondo Union.

 

ASB NEWS

Saturday, August 29th is our big Sea Hawk KICK OFF Dance of the year! It’s a NEON theme and we can’t wait for all 4 grade levels to have FUN! This will be the first event of the year! What’s included … Lil G is back to be our DJ, TK Burgers, Photo Booth, Candy Station, Snacks, Drinks, Games, and more! Buy your ticket in the ASB finance office or you can buy it online on our Web store. YOU DON’T WANT TO MISS OUT IN THIS!

 

ATHLETICS

 

  • SURF-Attention Sea Hawk Surfers the surf team tryouts will be on Saturday, August 29th at 7:00 am at the Hermosa Beach Pier.  We are looking for shortboarders and longboarders.  If you have any questions, please reach out to Coach Avery [email protected] 

 

  • SOFTBALL-REDONDO UNION SOFTBALL TRYOUTS! Tuesday August 25th @ 4pm. Please be there after school so we can get you checked in. We will start promptly at 4:00 PM on August 25th at the Redondo Union Softball Field. Come ready to work, compete, and show what you can do. Please have your softball pants, cleats, gloves, and bats with you.
  • TRACK- Tryouts for Off-Season Track (6th period class) will be held after school on Thursday, August 20th, Wednesday, August 26th, and Thursday, August 27th at 3:45 pm.Please bring running shoes, shorts & a shirt. Athletes meet at the West end of the track at 3:45 pm.  Tryouts will end at 4:45 pm. Please get in touch with Track Coach Matt Smalling w/your questions - [email protected] or cell #310-505-8486.

 

  • GIRLS BASKETBALL-Tryouts will be held on August 27th 4:00pm-5:30pm in the small gym.

 

  • WRESTLING GIRLS- Wrestling tryouts will be held on Wednesday, 8/26 at 4:30-pm

Boys Wrestling will be held on Thursday, 8/27 4:30-6pm

 

  • WRESTING BOYS- Boys Wrestling will be held on Thursday, 8/27 4:30-6pm

 

COURSE CHANGES

Thank you for your patience as our counseling team works through student schedule requests. We appreciate your cooperation as we navigate these transitions.

To maintain an orderly campus and ensure classes run smoothly, please note the following guidelines:

  • Counseling Office Access: Students are no longer permitted to line up at the counseling office. Counselors are working through requests systematically, and students will be called down directly if their schedule change is accommodated.
  • Mandatory Class Attendance: All students must attend the classes currently listed on their schedule. Unapproved absences from assigned classes will not be permitted.
  • Priority Processing: Schedule adjustments are strictly prioritized for urgent needs, such as missing a required class period or placement in an incorrect course level.

Thank you for your understanding and support in keeping our school day structured for all students.

OFF-GROUNDS

Off-Grounds stickers will be distributed in the upcoming weeks, and communication will be sent out via Parent Square and posted around campus for dates/times/location to pick up. For the interim students must keep a copy of their class schedules to show campus security at the designated exit school locations.

 

Conditions for use of Off-Grounds Permit:

  • Students may leave campus at the beginning of lunch on the day when they do not have a 5th or 6th period.
  • On “A” Schedule days (periods 1-6), students with a 6th period class cannot leave campus during lunch/5th period.
  • Students must show their school picture ID with a valid Off-Grounds Permit Sticker attached when leaving campus.
  • After leaving campus, students may only return to school after 3:30pm.
  • Students must always carry their student ID in the event truancy enforcement officers in the community request identification.
  • “Neither the school district or any officer or employee thereof shall be liable for the conduct or safety of any pupil during such time as the pupil has left the school grounds” California Education Code 44808.5
  • Students who abuse the privilege of an Off-Grounds Permit will have that privilege revoked.
  • Permission form to be completed electronically, parents/guardians agree to accept full legal responsibility and liability for their child for the period of time he/she uses the Redondo Union High School Off-Grounds Permit.

 

 PARKING

As a reminder all spots in our main parking lot are assigned to students/staff. If you are visiting the school, we have visitor parking in the smaller lot off Sea Hawk Way or street parking (please check signs for street cleaning hours)

 

SENIORS the deadline to purchase your parking spot is Wednesday, Aug 26th. Any spots not claimed by the deadline will be given to students on the waitlist.

A big thank you to the volunteers who contributed their time for each day of Registration, Freshman/New Family Orientation, Welcome Back Staff Lunch and First Day of School schedule hand out. With close to 100 volunteers and many hundreds of hours worked - our Sea Hawk community is stronger because of YOU!

SENIORS

SENIORS: Please be sure to return signed senior contracts to the front office as soon as possible.

 

STUDENT DROP OFF ITEMS

Items may be dropped off at the student drop off table in the front lobby.  Please be sure that the items are labeled with students first and last names. We are not allowed to call classrooms unless of an emergency so please coordinate with your student on picking up at a time that is not disruptive to instructional time.  Any food items not picked up by the end of the day will be discarded and all other items sent to our lost and found in the attendance office.

 

NO food delivery services are allowed and will be denied for the safety of staff/students.

 

VISITORS

For the safety of students and staff all visitors must have an appointment or pre-approved purpose, and valid ID to enter our school. Please check our website for a directory or contact our front office 310.798.8665 x4000 to schedule appointments.
