Senior Families,
There are a few Yearbook deadlines you should be aware of, please carefully read the information below:
Portraits
Treasured Moments Photography is still scheduling senior portraits until October 1st. If you have not yet scheduled a portrait sitting, you may do so by following this LINK and joining the waitlist. If you have already taken your portrait, please choose which you'd like to appear in the yearbook by following this LINK. The password is your student's ID #. If you do not choose a photo, one will be chosen for you.
The RUHS Yearbook only uses portraits taken by Treasured Moments in the senior portrait section of the yearbook, and no other photos are allowed. If your family has demonstrated financial need, please email [email protected] to arrange a fee waiver.
Senior Ads
Senior Ads for the Yearbook are on sale until December 7th. These are optional, personalized well-wishes with photos that parents/families create to honor their grads, and the ads appear in the back of the yearbook. If you choose to purchase a senior ad, you will create the ad yourself using the Varsity website, (code: 6724) following the directions on the website. You must complete your ad before purchasing. If you have questions, please contact Varsity directly, since the school yearbook staff doesn’t handle senior ads.

CSF
The CSF (California Scholarship Federation) honor roll registration window will be open September 14th through Wednesday, September 30th. Students in grades 10-12 who qualify and want to join should fill out an application and bring it, along with their February report card, to be stamped in room 706 at lunch (no transcripts allowed, as they don't have citizenship marks; Ms. Valentekovich can do a grade check if you absolutely can't find your report card, but that takes much longer, so please bring the report card if you have it). The stamped form and $5 (check, credit card, or cash) are due no later than 9/30. You may submit this at the ASB finance office or, if you have exact change and don't need a receipt, to Ms. V. in room 706. The window will close on Wednesday, 9/30, the last day of the month, and late applications will not be accepted.
Freshman already have their CJSF status from the June report card and should not apply this semester. Please wait until you have an RUHS report card from semester one to be eligible for CSF.
Applications are available in room 706 or on the RUHS website (under Programs and Activities).

National PTA Art Contest: REFLECTIONS
Calling all creatives! The RUHS PTSA Reflections Committee is excited to invite you to participate in this year's program by submitting original work in these areas:
- Dance Choreography
- Literature
- Photography
- Film Production
- Music Composition
- Visual Arts
The theme this year is, "What My Culture Means to Me." Culture is a broad subject with tons of room for interpretation (just like art!) so run with it and think outside the box! If it seems too broad, maybe start by asking yourself: What culture(s) do I exist within? Have I helped start or shape a microculture? How has macroculture shaped me?
This program is open to all students. The Accessible Arts Division was created to ensure that all students, including those with disabilities, have an opportunity to share their voice through the arts. All students with IEP's or 504's (under IDEA or ADA), are invited to enter the Accessible Art division, from pre-k to 12th grade.
Entries will be accepted until mid-October, please submit your work and your application through THIS LINK. Email questions to: [email protected].

RBEF NEWS
|
RBEF Investor Drive is here: September 9-25! We’d love to see our RUHS community come together and make a big impact for our students! From Career Day for all RUHS Students to esports, robotics, and Project ECHO, from teacher grants to AVID support, PSAT testing for all juniors to and so much more, RBEF supports the programs that enrich our students’ education and help them thrive. [Insert Image here, if possible, too] Every gift, regardless of the amount, helps ensure that every RBUSD student continues to benefit from the programs that make our schools exceptional. And today is the perfect day to get started! DONATE NOW: https://www.rbef.org/give/ Last year, 226 RUHS families made an investment and that means only about 9% of RUHS families donated. Let’s show RBEF what our RUHS community can do! We hope you’ll join us in investing in our RBUSD students. Thank you for believing in our kids. Let’s make this Investor Drive our best one yet! _________________ Skechers Walk is fast approaching. Walk with Team RUHS on October 18! JOIN THE TEAM: https://www.rbef.org/events/skechers/ Who wouldn’t want to support an event that RAISES SO MUCH MONEY FOR OUR SCHOOL? Last year, TEAM RUHS had 488 walkers and received an incredible grant from RBEF for $14,640. This year, let’s show our Redondo pride as we pull together the LARGEST TEAM EVER! Join TEAM RUHS and sign up your friends, family, co-workers and even your pets. This is also a great opportunity for family members and grandparents from out of town to support our school. Team RUHS only gets credit for each walker. If you want to give more, be sure to do so by registering extra walkers. Each individual walker is how we get credit for our grant - and Virtual Walkers count exactly the same as in-person walkers. Don’t forget to check Redondo Beach Educational Foundation box during registration, so that all of your walkers count for our school. #WalkWithRBUSD and #TeamRUHS because #WeAreRedondo. |
