Welcome to Coach Dessert's Teacher Page

Welcome to my Page!  I am excited to start another year at the best high school in southern California!  

I have lived in the South Bay my entire life and raised my family in this district. I graduated from RUHS in 1991 and attended El Camino CC and Cal State Long Beach where I was recruited to play Div 1 Softball.  I graduated with a degree in Kinesiology and Physical Education and earned my K-12 Teaching Credential.  I coached Softball here for 20 years and now I am enjoying having my last child attend RUHS.  In 2015 I became certified in Hatha Yoga from the White Lotus Foundation with a grant from the Blue Zones Project.  I have also trained to become a Life Coach and Certified Hypnotherapist with the International Hypnosis Foundation.  I began my own meditation and wellness practices over 30 years ago and l use this to connect with our students and their wellness needs on a different level.  I teach Physical Education classes in Weight Training, Dance, Fitness and Yoga.  In the past 15 years I have worked with our Administration and District in promoting 21 Century Wellness practices and have begun implementing programs for our students and faculty.  Giving back to our community is a big passion of mine.
