Meet the Staff

Hi!  My name is Rachel Andrews and I am the new Mental Health and Wellness Counselor at Redondo Union High School.  I have served the Redondo Beach community as a counselor at Parras Middle School for 14 years and I also worked at a charter high school.  I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor and very passionate about addressing the social-emotional and mental health needs of our students.  I attended UCSB (Go Gauchos) for Psychology and Loyola Marymount University for Counseling, and I also have my Gifted and Talented Certificate from UCI.  I have a background in criminal justice which has shaped my professional approach to emphasize prevention.  I am excited to start a Wellness Center on our campus where students can attend wellness-based activities and events, where I can run groups, and also see students for individual counseling as needed.  I am also looking forward to supporting staff and parents, and would love the opportunity to connect with you.  My email address is RAndrews@rbusd.org I have a four year old boy and thirteen month old girl, but when I did have free time, I enjoyed reading, hiking, live music, and all things nerdy and fun like Harry Potter, GOT, LOTR, Star Wars, etc.  Can’t wait to meet you!

Hello there! My name is Morgen, I am a first-generation college student with a passion for working with people, being creative, healthy living, and learning. My educational background is in Nutrition Science; I am furthering my education as a graduate candidate at Loyola Marymount University to become a licensed Mental Health Counselor. I will utilize my education to be an advocate, a teacher, and a healer. My goal is to not only make a positive impact in schools but also in communities. As we all know life can be difficult, so I follow the wise words of Maya Angelou and "try to be a rainbow in someone's cloud" every day.

My favorite quote: "You don't have to be great to get started, but you do have to get started to be great." -Zig Ziglar
