CAASPP INFO

Why is CAASPP Important?

CAASPP results play a critical role in college admissions, school rankings, and how our community is viewed, as they are one of the only publicly available academic measures used to compare schools. Strong performance shows colleges that our students are prepared for college-level work and helps guide teachers and administrators in identifying strengths, growth areas, and opportunities for additional support, enrichment, and advanced placement.

CAASPP Overview

We are excited to launch this year’s CAASPP statewide assessments for all 11th grade students beginning in March, with English Language Arts testing scheduled for March 17–20, Mathematics from March 24–27, and Science from March 31–April 3. Parent meeting will be held in the RUHS Library on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. to share important information and partner with families in supporting student success.

Celebrating CAASPP Student Progress and Participation

To make this experience positive and motivating, we are celebrating both effort and achievement. Students who attend and actively participate in testing will be entered into classroom raffles for prizes and gift cards. Any student who grows by at least one performance level will be invited to a special food truck celebration, and students who earn a Level 3 (Proficient) or Level 4 (Advanced) in any subject will also receive a food truck invitation. Students who achieve a 3 or 4 in all three areas—Science, Math, and ELA—will earn a graduation cord in recognition of their outstanding accomplishment. These incentives and expectations will be highlighted at the CAASPP Junior Class Assembly on March 11, 2026. Together, with strong effort, engagement, and community pride, we can ensure our CAASPP results truly reflect the excellence of our students and the strength of our school community.

RUHS CAASPP and CAST Goals

We are pleased to share our 2025–2026 SMART Goals, which reflect our commitment to continuous improvement and academic excellence for all students.

Goal #1 is to achieve at least 95% student participation in the CAASPP while increasing overall student performance in English Language Arts, Mathematics, and Science by 4%.

Goal #2 is that within the next three years, our school will rank consistently among the top three schools in the South Bay in both ELA and Mathematics.

Goal #3 is to become the top-ranked school in Science within the next three years.

With continued partnership between students, families, and staff, we are confident that these goals will drive meaningful growth and position our school as a leader in academic excellence across the South Bay.

SEPAC

The RUHS SEPAC team would like you to fill out this year’s PARENT QUESTIONNAIRE.  We want to know how your student’s special education experience at RUHS is going.  This information will help us gather data to find common concerns and hear your suggestions on how our students high school experience can be improved.

This valuable information will help us to create a presentation for a parent meeting, and more importantly, the information will be shared with RUHS admin., RUHS special ed department, and the district.

In an effort to make the survey completely anonymous, your name and your students' name are not required.  By filling out this year’s PARENT QUESTIONNAIRE, at your earliest convenience, you are assisting SEPAC in providing feedback that will allow RUHS to continue to be the best high school in the South Bay for all students.

For more information on RUHS SEPAC, and to access upcoming events and parent resources, please log on to our WEBSITE.

Stayed tuned for an invite to our next parent meeting (TBD) in March, at 6pm via zoom, to present our questionnaire feedback.  If you have any questions, please email us at:  [email protected]
