DRAMA:

*It’s time to get ready for our Mainstage Winter Play - In Any Language – a hilarious comedy set in Italy that shows you what happens when you are making a movie – but can’t speak the language! RUHS Theatre Arts will be holding an informational meeting at 3:15 pm on Monday September 17th in the Blackbox. Come and get more information about auditions and technical interviews, and start off the school year with this hilarious and full of laughs show!

*Get ready, because Comedy Sportz is back in gear! We are looking for all you hilarious people out there at RUHS to join our competitive improv team. Be part of the fun this year as we take on sur-rounding schools in an audience interactive improv showdown! Auditions will be on Friday

September 21st at 3:15 pm in the Blackbox. No experience is necessary, just be ready to come down, play some games and get ready to laugh! We hope to see you there!

 

PARENT REPRESENTATIVES NEEDED FOR RBUSD CHYA ADVISORY COMMITTEE:

The RBUSD will be evaluating, recommending, and adopting grades 7-12 comprehensive sexual health education and HIV/AIDS prevention curriculum in October 2018. As a unified school district, we want to make an informed decision for curriculum selection to best meet the requirements of the California Healthy Youth Act (CHYA). TEEN COURT:

Interested in earning 5 credits for your service? Sign up to take “Teen Court Class” with your

counselor, or see M. Botchie in 202. Trials Monthly. Receive Community Service Hours, and

“Civic Responsibility” credit in Gov’t. class. Teen Court gives students a chance to make a difference in teen lives. You can be A JUROR to help teens sent to the RUHS Teen Court in the BINGO ROOM .

Teen Court Club Meetings: Tuesdays at Snack in 202.

 

PARENTING IN THE DIGITAL WORLD:

With support from South Bay Families Connected and Beach Cities Health, we are excited to kick-off the fall Families Connected Speaker Series with Clayton Cranford, the Cyber Cop, returning by

popular demand to present Parenting in the Digital World on September 17th. Please join us at this event and at our small group workshops related to this topic. Please register by clicking here.

CHEER CLINIC:

The RUHS Cheer Squad invites students K - 8TH to attend their annual Junior Sea Hawk Cheer Clinic! Students will learn exciting dances, and cheers from the RUHS Cheer Squad. They will perform

during halftime at the Varsity Football Game on September 28th, 2018.

Junior Sea Hawk Training Schedule:

Wednesday, September 26th from 3:30PM to 5:00PM

Thursday, September 27th from 3:30PM to 5:00PM

Friday, September 28th from 5:30PM to half time of football game.

The registration fee of $50.00 per participant includes 2 days of training, snack, pizza party, custom clinic cheer t-shirt, and a hair bow!

 

ROBOTICS:

For any students interesting in joining the Beach Cities Robotics team this fall, the robotics lab will be open on Sunday September 16th from 1 to 4 PM. The robotics lab is located at RUHS off of Diamond Street, just past the South Bay Adult School.

 

ASB INFORMATION:

*It’s not too late to purchase an ASB sticker! The Back to School Special runs at $140, and includes an ASB sticker for free admittance into sporting events, discounts on school events, a planner, spirit shirt, and our award winning yearbook. There is also the option of purchasing the Spirit pack for $60, which does not include the yearbook

*All RUHS students wishing to use the hall locker assigned to you must use a RUHS lock. Purchase for $7 in the ASB Finance Office.

*Hey Seniors! It's not too late to buy a Senior Sticker and enjoy all the fun senior events we have to offer (plus food!)! Stickers cost $40 and can be purchased in the ASB finance office! Hurry before it's too late!

*Don't miss out Sea Hawks on the Class of 2021 Krispy Kreme Fundraiser! Order your dozen of

delicious Krispy Kreme donuts from the ASB Finance office or from any Sophomore in ASB for only $10 till Wednesday, the 26th of September. Pick up will be Friday, September 28th after school in the Student Union.

*Attention Sea Hawks! The Class of 2022 is hosting an eat-in event at Wanna Chill in Redondo Beach. Come out and support your fellow Sea Hawks this Tuesday, September 18th. Don’t forget to bring your friends and mention that you’re from RUHS! Can’t wait to see you there!

 

PARKING AT RUHS:

Staff and Students: All parking spots are assigned and permitted. In order for you to park in the

parking lot during the school day, you MUST have been assigned a designated spot. Please do not park in the parking lot if you did not receive a spot, you will be towed.

 

DRESS CODE:

Please remember that RUHS has a strict dress code policy that needs to be adhered to. Failure to do so will result in having to change and/or fix your outfit. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask any adult on campus, or look on the website or in your school planner for the dress code policy of what is allowable and what is not.
