Art 3

This year, Art 3 will be combined with AP Studio Art. Art 3 is a pre-Advanced Placement course, designed for highly motivated students who are committed to the creation and study of art. This course emphasizes art making as an ongoing process that involves complex and critical decision making. Through this process, students will work toward developing mastery in concept, composition, and execution of 2D art and will produce a highly developed body of work to be submitted as a portfolio by the end of the term. Students who take Art 3 should have previous training in art and be able to demonstrate skills through a completed portfolio. Students will investigate formal and conceptual ideas in a two part art portfolio consisting of Breadth and a student driven Concentration.
